Soon off to the Mayo Clinic

Luke recently received a referral to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and is scheduled for examinations and evaluations on March 17, 18 and 19 of his brachial plexus injury. He has had no improvement in either sensations or movement with his left arm. If they determine that surgery is necessary, it will be on March 24. Pray that the doctors will be able to diagnose and repair his nerve injuries.

Luke is still waiting to receive his prosthetic leg. Insurance is the current hold up as they must evaluate and determine that the microprocessor leg is necessary for Luke. Pray that the decision will come quickly and he will be able to get the leg that SCOPe is recommending for him.

Despite the frustrations of the delays with his leg and taking care of the bills that are coming in, Luke remains in good spirits.

This is the greatest news ever!!! I was a patient at Mayo Clinic for 10 years as I am from that area. You will not find a better health care institution anywhere! And you'll love Rochester! You'll quickly learn the meaning of "Minnesota Nice"!
If you like chinese food try Hunan's by Kmart; italian - Victoria's downtown; and for a good steak - Timberlodge! :) Enjoy your time in my hometown...well as much as you can anyway!

Great to hear that Luke is getting to see the people who will be able to help him best! I will pray for wisdom during their consultation. Prayers overall continue as well.

Luke although they have given you excellent care out there a fresh set of eyes is always a good thing. I will pray that they come up with a new thought and solution for the arm. I also will pray that the insurance will come to the proper determination for you. Don't give up on that. You should hound them and resubmit until there is a mountain of paper work stacked on their desks. Sorry folks, but I'm getting a little tired of so many gettig screwed over and dictated to by morons working for insurance companies. They have absolutely no idea how their decisions can ruin lives and discourage real people. You hang in there buddy!!! We'll be praying for you and your family. God Bless.

Continuing to pray for your full recovery Luke. If we lived in SC, I would take over your Jeep payments. Take care and we will be praying for you on your trip to the Mayo Clinic.
