Luke was released from the hospital Saturday afternoon and he spent the rest of the day relaxing at the motel and doing some Wii bowling. We enjoyed a final dinner together at Outback. He still is very uncomfortable from all the healing incisions but is getting better each day. He has to leave his motion restricting sling on for three weeks and will do follow up visits with his elbow surgeon in San Diego. He will have a follow up visit back here at the Mayo Clinc in about a year.
His flight back to San Diego leaves at 9:00 Sunday morning and after taking him to the airport, Paula and I will begin our long drive home.

Late in the evening of October 27th, 2008, Luke was critically injured by a wrong-way driver while riding his motorcycle to work for the Border Patrol in San Diego. We will use this site as communication to and from the Dithrich family. Please feel free to leave comments for the family.

I haven't written lately but have been checking in every so often & keeping you in prayer. We are happy to know you have that much surgery behind you & can move forward now. We know it will take time but we pray you have a complete recovery & can use that arm & hand again. You are fortunate to have such wonderful & caring parents. Hope everyone had a safe trip. Hang in there. I have to find out if your Uncle Bruce keeps track of you & what is going on. If not, he is in big trouble. LOL
